“Vaccine Preventable Livestock Diseases” an android app has been intended and developed by the Guru Angad Dev Veterinary and Animal Sciences University (GADVASU), to deepen the basic knowledge of the reader about livestock diseases and specifically provide immediate information concerning diseases of farm animals against which vaccines are existing. The focus of this app is on diseases of cattle, buffalo, pig and sheep & goats, caused by viruses or bacteria, which are a threat to the livestock owners in our country. This app has elaborated in detail about the disease, the disease causative agents, host species being affected, ways of disease spread, clinical signs helping in early disease suspicion, and disease management procedures, adoption of which by the livestock owners could minimize the disease associated loss. The app further provides information on some common words used in the field of vaccines. This app adds knowledge to the beginners to understand about basics of vaccines and types of vaccines. In nutshell, this app serves as a ready reckoner for the important farm animal diseases which are preventable with the use of vaccines.
